Ms. Amy

Founder and Lead Tutor

Hi! My name is Ms. Amy and I am the Founder and Lead Tutor of Kelton Learning Group. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington with a History major and a Human Rights minor. I then proceeded to earn my Masters in Teaching from Columbia University Teachers College, the top graduate program for Education.

After graduating from Columbia University, I moved back home to Seattle and became a substitute teacher for the Federal Way Public School District, which I actually found very fun! The following school year, I found a middle school teaching job at an Independent School in Seattle that was totally inclusive because I taught students on the Autism Spectrum, along with their typically developing peers. Being a teacher for students of all abilities was rewarding and challenging, and I loved every moment of it.

During my time teaching middle school, I got married and a year later, my husband found a job in Los Angeles. I just started my sixth year of teaching and realized that I couldn’t leave my students and families at the beginning of the school year, especially since I promised I would be there for them. So my husband moved to Los Angeles and I stayed behind in Seattle, finishing the school year. During that time, I considered finding another teaching job in Los Angeles but found a great school in Santa Monica with an administrative opening. I worked in Santa Monica for four years and left because my family (which now includes baby Theo) moved to Orange County.

Now that we are in Orange County, we felt it was time for me to start my own learning center. While I have big visions for Kelton Learning Group, my main vision will stay the same: to help all students, regardless of ability, reach their full potential with the correct resources and support.  I thank you for considering Kelton Learning Group as your next tutoring center and for trusting us with your children’s academic career.
